A worthwhile wait

People often ask me how long it takes for a literary magazine to review a story for submission. The answer is nearly always months.

I submitted a short story back in early summer to Hawai`i Pacific Review, and though I did not forget about the submission, as the months passed, it receded from the forefront of my mind.

Meanwhile I was running down a road of rejections (I am up to 105 rejections in 2016, for those who read my earlier post about my goal to 100) when HPR recently gave me a place to rest.

Thank you, Hawai`i Pacific Review for publishing my story.
